Occult Findings Ep.04: The Solar Hour

Called the Golden Hour by its devotees, the hour of the Sun brings with it a force that provokes envy, arrogance, pride and aloofness. An adept immersed in its omnipresent glow rarely escapes the powerful infusion it bestows on mortals whose likeness matches its own. To invoke this hour and all it offers is to assume a role of supremacy, even if it is undeserved. Others will feel pulled into the orbit of your magnanimous emanation.

Those who enjoy a proclivity to the Sun are called Hierophants. The nature of the hour so thoroughly permeates the minds of these adepts that their entire life becomes a procession of praise. Sleep is expelled from their nature. Their skin exudes a slight consistent glow. They drift along the currents of light avoiding the darkness. The mark of the Solar hour is nearly impossible to discard once it has been attained. Adepts who make use of this hour will suffer from no lack of confidence. If this attitude is not restricted with prolonged influence a person will become self-assured to the point of vanity.

The Sun is the central governing point of the Solar hour in the physical world. Unlike the planets, it has no orbit but instead holds the structure of the solar system in place around itself. A star situated in a constellation we on Earth have no way of seeing. This is a corporeal description of how the adepts of this hour view themselves.

Solar Hourlies are the denizens who live amidst the Solar realm. During the times on our plane when their hour is strongest, should you choose to make use of their presence always know they will never submit to a timid spirit. They will likely make as much or more demands as the adept summoning them. Constrain them quickly and firmly but never be insolent. The Solars will never serve the unworthy or the impolite.

The operations performed with Solars are almost always feats in themselves. These beings impart the ability to see the invisible beings and worlds that parallel our own. They can transport an adept from one location to another at unnatural speeds. They can bend light away from a target making it invisible. To any adept who has become adjusted to the Solar hour, very little can be denied them. Their nature can inspire a deep veneration among mortals and spirits. Even the wicked Sub-lunars are forcefully exorcised when in proximity to them.

Any adept attracted to this hour will inevitably take on its negative traits. You must be weary and careful. Though the sun’s rays allow for revelation a true magus will redirect and shine the purifying light inwardly. The doom of many a Hierophant is to be overwhelmed by their own powers. Unknowing of their own ignorance is a great weakness and though the Solars will sing praises of your extraordinary stature. Their chorus will not stutter just because you have been consumed by the light you so desperately believed you could control.

The Sun is not a god, but it is His noblest image
